About My Process & Approach

I believe in the power of art to heal. As an artist, songwriter, producer, and creative arts psychotherapist, I experience how creativity helps individuals to process, heal, and transform.

My creative works include You and Us, a virtual band creating healing arts music for families; An American Nightmare, a solo performance at Hudson Guild Theater, NYC, in June 2019; and The JillRabbits, a Philly based electro-pop band, 2005-2014.

As an art therapist, I specialize in early childhood, acute assessment, trauma treatment, family advocacy, and community education. I’m the founder of The Emerald Sketch, a mental health organization that mobilizes clinicians to set up sustainable creative arts therapy services immediately following disasters or traumatic events. This work is guided by my time as the Director of Child Therapy in the days following the Sandy Hook School tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut in 2012-2014. I also currently serve as the President of the New York Art Therapy Association.
